What to do now that you know the horrible truth... by Len McGrane

There are some things we men find difficult to admit.
Impotence is one of them.
Even as mature Christian men we find it nearly impossible to openly say we're having trouble in this very private area of our life.
We can confess we have problems with our children.
After plucking up courage, we can even go into a lingerie store and ask the ladies for help to buy revealing underwear for our wife.
But there's no way we'll reveal we've lost the power to have satisfactory relations in bed.
We are frozen in embarrassment.
Here are three concepts many older men find helpful when they first realize they have become impotent.
(1) Impotence is hiding everywhere.
No-one talks about it, so none of us fully appreciate just how common the problem is. But you can be sure of this -- many of your friends and people you mix with are impotent just like you.
Accurate research is obviously difficult, but it seems that in the US and the UK 20 percent of men over 65 are affected.
That's a high number. It is one in five of the older men sitting in the church you attended last Sunday.
Do the sums. You are not alone!
In July last year the Center for Disease Control released another of it's classic reports on doctor visits; the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey.
It looked at how many prescriptions had been written for recently approved drugs. New impotence treatments were in the top four!
The same Ambulatory Survey, in it's landmark 1985 report, found impotent men visited their doctor more than half a million times that year.
Impotence is a very common condition. It's nothing to be ashamed or guilty about.
(2) You have to "do something" about it.
There are many practical treatment options available for you and your wife to try out.
In the last few years viagra demonstrated the huge size of the market for impotence treatments and routines, and new ones are coming out all the time.
At the same time the Internet is awash with scam "cures", so here is a list of no-hype resources to start you on the road to recovering the satisfaction of your most intimate relationship.

(3) It's safe to stay in your closet
You don't have to openly declare your condition -- because impotence is something you can SAFELY keep a secret from everyone but your wife.
Impotence is not like alcoholism. It won't be fixed by a weekly discussion group. And it isn't going to get worse if you say nothing.
Until quite recently we were told impotence was "all in the mind."
Counselors were said to hold the cure. So if we wanted to return to the full flush of our youth we were expected to undergo some highly personal therapy sessons.
Thanks!
Recent medical evidence has changed that.
It's now clear as much as 90 percent of impotence has a physical cause. In most cases public discussion, even in confidential groups of other impotent men, is not going to do anything to the way your body is working. (Or not working!)
So, if you are impotent and don't want to talk about that, you can safely keep the secret between your wife and yourself only.
Use the Internet to find out all you need to know. Start with the sites I've listed above.

Impotence is not like a mental condition you have to talk your way out of with a professional counselor. It won't be fixed in a weekly discussion group with other impotent men. And it isn't going to get worse if you say nothing.
As much as 90 percent of impotence has a physical cause.
